Known gaps in official guidance (Oct 2026)
- Hybrids aren't named directly; we treat them as gasoline-powered.
- The state emissions fee is shown as $2.75 by TxDMV and $2.50 on a TCEQ highlights page.
- The Bexar County DPS waiver/challenge station location isn't published yet.
- The DPS out-of-county-use exception predates the end of safety inspections.
- The $600 Individual Vehicle Waiver minimum comes from a 2020 DPS FAQ.
- How a model year maps to the 2- and 24-year cut-offs at a given renewal isn't spelled out.
